Hey,
Welcome to the Grit&wit Podcast Info page. I will aim to answer FAQ’s here and give you a little more info about the process.
The aim of this podcast is to help busy ambitious women to start, grow and really enjoy their businesses, whilst juggling family and other commitments, and to let go of the overwhelm and thrive.
Through inspiring conversations with likeminded female entrepreneurs and sharing practical tips and advice, we help our audience to navigate the highs and lows of running a small business with Grit&wit.
Being a guest is easy and fun, there are three main steps and a couple of little ones, all outlined below.
Thanks,
Liz x

FAQs
What do I need to be able to record?
Not much to be honest. It’s all about having an honest conversation and sharing your knowledge and experiences in an open and authentic way. On the day you probably want to have a few quiet notes printed or written, just some bullet points that we will go through in the pre-record chat.
What tech do I need?
If you have a proper microphone that would be great. If not then a pair of apple headphones or a handsfree headset would be ideal, so that you can hear me without having to have me on loud speaker, and instead you hear me in your ear and then the headphones work as a mic too. They need to fit your computer and its important to check this well in advance. In terms of the tech to record, you will need a laptop that you can get onto the internet with, with a stable connection. I will send you the logins etc.
What else do I need to consider?
Background noise! This can ruin a great conversation and make it unusable. So turn off the doorbell, silence the dog / kids, and move to a quiet spot. Often a walk in wardrobe is used as a makeshift studio, as the fabric stops any echoey sounds. Also, please consider what you are wearing. The great thing is no-one can see you, so be as scruffy as you like, but please remove earrings, necklaces and anything that is around your neck that might jangle or knock against your mic or make any noises. Please also be mindful of squeaky chairs and basically anything that will make a noise!
How long will it take?
We will schedule 2 hours, which will be more than enough time, it’s likely to take around an hour to record, but we will need time before and after to have a chat and set up etc.
What do I need to provide in advance?
Please just let me know how you would like me to introduce you, your social handles and where you would like to direct people if they want to learn more about you / your business.
How long will the final podcast episode be?
That depends on the format really. Most episodes will be around 30 mins, and some will longer form - up to an hour.
Should I talk about the podcast on my social media channels before we record?
Yes, yes, yes. Please do tell your community what you are up to, build some anticipation and excitement, share your journey. Most people won’t have been on a podcast, so will be interested in your experience, any nerves, how you feel about it etc. We want to generate as many listens and downloads for your episode (there is a prize for the most downloaded episode, so get competitive!)
How will I know when the episode is live?
I will let you know the scheduled release date, and on this date it will just go out automatically, so please do make a note in your diary to check. Once it’s live you can share it far and wide. More ears on you and your business is a great thing to build trust, as you know!
